WHAT DOES SHABBAT MEAN TO YOU?

SHABBAT SHALOMThose who enjoyed the recent Shabbat morning service with Eleanor Davis will remember her sermon based around Shabbat.

Shabbat traditions and practices have changed over the years.

She discussed the below points which may help you to navigate Shabbat in these changing times:-

Gratitude
Take the time to really think about what you are grateful for.

Do something nicer
This could be something as simple as going to your local business for your morning coffee, rather than making it yourself. It might be taking time out to cook your favourite meal, which you might not have time to do in the week.

If you have jobs to do, do them in the week
'Waste' this time doing what needs to be done during the week so you don't have to do any errands or chores on Shabbat.

Do something you consider restful
This could be seeing family or friends, reading or enjoying a hobby.

The idea is to come out of Shabbat to face the new week feeling a sense of 'time well spent'.
